Coaching

As a coach, I collaborate with you to clarify your goals—both those that are overt and those that are subtler—and guide you on your path toward them in an organized, focused manner. Coaching begins with a thorough in-person intake during which I get to know you, your current life, and your future desires. Based on your goals and my understanding of you, I will recommend a coaching program. Your program will consist of a set of practices—activities for you to engage in on a regular basis—which will support you in moving toward your goals. Because growth happens on many levels, I design coaching programs that engage the mind, heart, body, and spirit.

While you are engaging in your coaching program, we will talk regularly (usually every two weeks, either by phone or in-person) to discuss your experience, reflect on your learning, and integrate changes. In addition to providing ongoing support, these conversations provide a space to explore challenges and celebrate successes. We will also adjust and update your coaching program as needed to ensure progress toward your goals.

Coaching or therapy? My coaching and therapy work share elements—I bring compassion and authenticity to both, and my holistic and existential-humanistic orientation is the foundation for both. Coaching is a more structured approach, which can benefit those who have a specific goal and want to engage in activities outside the coaching sessions to reach that goal.  Therapy is a more organic process, which leaves more space for us to explore the unknown and process the emotional world within the therapy hour.
